The Confraternity of Christian Mothers was founded in France in 1850, with the express purpose of the Christian education of children according to the principles of the Gospel.
Pittsburgh was designated as one of the original six worldwide Arch-confraternities in 1881. The Confraternity of Christian Mothers of Immaculate Conception Church was affiliated in 1954.
Our purpose:
We are involved in parish activities such as the annual school festival, Corpus Christi Procession, and public rosary gatherings. In addition, we are available to say the rosary for deceased members (funeral home) and/or provide an Honor Guard at the funeral Mass.
Our meeting times and locations are published in advance in the Parish bulletin. All women from St. James Parish are welcome to join.
