“But Jesus called for them and said,
‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them;
for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.
Truly I tell you,
whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child,
will never enter it.” Luke 18: 16-17
As parents and guardians, you are the primary catechist for your child. Our goal is to support you and to nurture and foster growth in the Catholic faith of your children. This is accomplished with help from Catechists/volunteers of St. James Parish who give of their time and talents.
Religious Education for the 22-23 school year will begin on September 18th, 2022
Class is held from 9:00am to 10:15am on Sundays at St. Hilary.
Information on snow days/remote learning days goes out through email, our parish Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stjameswashpa), and our parish app, which is hosted through the myParish app.
In-person religious education is held from 9:00am-10:15am on Sundays at the old St. Hilary School building (Religious Education Building)
The program calendar contains all dates of religious education attendance.
Please make sure to register under the "Religious Education Forms" tab on this website.
Our program is using the Spirit of Truth curriculum. The curriculum combines in-class learning and activities with online readings and activities. The program may also be implemented in an all-online format with catechist support.
Each child in our program recieves a username and password for the Sophia Institute curriculum, this way, remote learning may take place at any time.
For online/remote learning, Sophia Institute also includes many resources to round out your child's religious education experience. These resources may be accessed here.
